Several of you may know this, but since the 1.2 patch, I've had recurring and fairly severe lag problems with WAR. It might be the game or it might be my computer; either way, when the lag spikes are at their worst, the PvP part of the game becomes almost unplayable. The problem has only gotten worse with the release of patch 1.2.1.
So I'm going on hiatus for awhile, in order to give Mythic some time to improve things on the server side, and I'm taking Aleydis with me.
We'll check in, and handle anything that we need to on the administrative end, but we won't be playing the game for three weeks or so. We'll re-evaluate after that.
I have to say that I'm not optimistic about a big improvement in game performance. It's been running worse for me, not better, since 1.2, and as it stands it's just not that much fun to play. I can't justify spending $30 a month, between Aleydis and I, for a game that runs as it does right now. I genuinely apologize for leaving anyone in the lurch, and should it turn out that WAR isn't the game for us, I'll miss all of the good people with whom I've gamed and roleplayed.
In the event that things don't get better for me, you may wish to start thinking about whether anyone wants to take over management of the guild. If Aleydis and I decide to call it quits on WAR, we'll be happy to turn over the keys.
