Something to Strive For...
Slaanesh is a passionate and fickle god, and his favor shifts with every whim. Within the Kiss of Chroesh, the pleasure of the Dark Prince may be recognized by the three Chroeshian Honors: the Unicorn's Horn, the Masked Slaaneshi Insignia and the Mark of Chroesh. Each is more distinguished than the last, and the bearer of one of these Honors may hold his or her head high amongst fellow cultists.
Each of the Chroeshian Honors is available as a reward for a certain type of guild participation. They are described in more detail below.
The Unicorn's Horn
Title: Bearer of the Unicorn's Horn ("Hail, Horn-Bearer!")
In Recognition Of: The Unicorn's Horn is rewarded for the most interesting and enjoyable roleplaying performance at a guild meeting. OOCly, it will be conferred by majority vote of the guild's members. After each guild meeting, we'll create a thread in which everyone will be able to vote for the person they found most entertaining; the winner of that vote will become the Horn-Bearer of Chroesh. In game terms, the Unicorn's Horn reflects Slaanesh's most mercurial favor; the bearer will know that he or she has been a true Slaaneshi, but it may not always be clear just /how/ he or she has pleased the Dark Prince.
Duration: The Unicorn's Horn is a single honor, and may only be borne by one cultist at a time; it passes from hand to hand as the god's favor shifts. The Horn-Bearer will enjoy this honor for two weeks, until the next guild meeting when the voting will take place again.
Masked Slaaneshi Insignia
Title: Guardian of the Masked Insignia ("Hail, Guardian!")
In Recognition Of: The Masked Slaaneshi Insignia is conferred upon the winner of one of the guild's 'RP Games.' These games are a fusion of roleplaying and gaming. They will involve both a roleplayed story and a goal to be achieved within the structure of the game itself-- in a dungeon, at a PQ, in scenarios or the RvR lakes. Each game will have clear conditions of victory, and the winner will be marked as the Guardian of the Masked Insignia. The Insignia is a more substantial honor, and goes to that person who has striven mightily in the god's cause. There is seldom any doubt within the cult as to whom the Guardian should be.
Duration: Like the Unicorn's Horn, the Masked Slaaneshi Insignia is a single honor that shifts from member to member. It will be held by the winner of the most recent RP Game until the next game is played, after which it will pass to the new victor.
The Mark of Chroesh
Title: The Marked ("Hail, Mark-Bearer!")
In Recognition Of: Unlike the other Chroeshian Honors, which are embodied by relics carried and passed between members of the cult, the Mark of Chroesh is a magical brand burned into the very flesh of Slaanesh's chosen son or daughter. It is rewarded for sustained and illustrious devotion to the god's will, and the reception of the Mark of Chroesh is a rare and signal event within the cult. In practical terms, this high honor may only be received after participating notably in a chain of guild stories, or contributing in a major fashion to the development of the guild as a whole. It will arise from the narrative of the guild, if and where it seems appropriate.
Duration: The Mark of Chroesh is the closest thing to a permanent honor that any Slaaneshi will enjoy. It is held for an indeterminate period of time, and more than one member may be so marked. If a Mark-Bearer displeases the god in some noteworthy fashion, then the Mark of Chroesh may be removed. This is a situation to be avoided at all costs; those who survive the removal ceremony will never forget their experience.
